Coordination of Care Support

Consider the following steps to help facilitate accepting referrals for appropriate patients at your REMS-certified treatment center:

    an initial consultation with the referred patient to discuss expectations, including benefits and risks

    SPRAVATO® based on the patient’s benefit design

    5. Instruct

    the patient to self-administer SPRAVATO® and observe him or her for at least 2 hours

Coordinating care with the referring HCP

    Reach out to the referring HCP before the patient’s first SPRAVATO® treatment session.

Communicate your ability as a REMS-certified SPRAVATO® treatment center

Developing a relationship with the referring HCP may help ensure continuity of care for patients, which is critical for treatment of TRD.

Communicating With Patients

Set expectations with your patients as you start accepting referrals into your treatment center

    Consider introducing the care team at your practice to welcome the patients who are new to SPRAVATO® treatment.

    Have the care team help patients understand what to expect with SPRAVATO® treatment, including how often they will come into the center and what will happen during the initial and subsequent treatment sessions.

    Reassure patients that their referring HCP is still involved and available to answer questions or address concerns.

    Have the care team discuss side effects, let the patient know that observation by a healthcare provider will be required for at least 2 hours until the healthcare provider determines the patient is safe to leave, and confirm with the patient that they have arranged transportation home following treatment with SPRAVATO®.
